The Nia “Art of Sensation” White Belt Foundation Training is designed for every body — from beginners to experienced movers. It’s for anyone seeking a deeper connection to their body, movement, and life, and for those inspired to teach Nia as a mindful dance practice.
This immersive training invites you on a journey of self-discovery through the Art of Sensation. Beginning with the Joy of Movement, you’ll explore Nia’s 13 foundational principles—tools that nurture holistic health, fitness, and lifelong wellness.
Personal Enrichment & Wellness
Not interested in teaching but want to deepen your Nia practice? The White Belt Training is a powerful journey in personal enrichment and self-discovery. You’ll cultivate refined movement skills, greater self-awareness, and a deeper connection to your body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
Explore the Art of Sensation through topics like physical awareness, self-healing, the Five Sensations of Fitness, becoming a Sacred Athlete, and conditioning the Body, Mind, and Spirit as one integrated system.
For those inspired to teach, the same training serves as the foundation for certification. Aspiring Nia teachers complete the White Belt and become Livelihood Members to begin sharing Nia with others as a fulfilling career.

Payment Policy
All trainings will be confirmed 30 days prior to the event start date. Nia Technique recommends all customers wait to purchase any travel or accommodations until the event has been confirmed.
The price of the Nia White Belt Training is $1,599 (USD) plus tax where applicable. The fee for the training is split into two payments as noted below:
1. Registration Fee: you must pay the Registration Fee directly to Nia Technique, Inc.
2. Instruction Fee: Upon registration, your trainer for this event, France-Laude Gohard, will be in contact with you. She will also invoice you for the Instruction Fee and any applicable tax 30-days prior to the training start date. Based on the location of the event, the Trainer may invoice you in local currency at the current exchange rate with the USD.

Retake & Audit Policy
Any belt graduate may retake a training they have previously completed. The fee to retake the training with France-Laude is $499 USD. Please check with France-Laude first to see if there is space. If there is, you need to contact NiaHQ to register and to pay the registration portion of $99. The $400 balance of the Instruction Fee of $400 can be sent via PayPal. France-Laude will send you the PayPal information once you are registered. Any belt graduate may audit up to three principle sessions for free.
Cancellation & Transfer Policy
Registration and instruction fees are non-refundable. Should you cancel your registration more than 30 days prior to the training start date, the registration fee will be credited to your Nia account. Should you cancel your registration less than 30 days prior to the training start date, you will incur a cancellation fee of $250 which will be deducted from your registration fee. The remaining balance will be credited to your Nia account.
The cancellation policy regarding your instruction fee varies by trainer. Please contact your trainer for more information.
Intensive trainings purchased at sale prices are not transferable or refundable. Should you cancel your registration less than 30 days prior to the training start date, you will incur a $250 cancellation fee which will be deducted from your registration fee. The remaining balance will be credited to your Nia account. Trainees who are unable to attend the purchased sale intensive may apply their credited funds toward another training and pay the difference in price.
